Child Safeguarding

Kildare College is committed to promoting children and young people’s wellbeing and to safeguarding children and young people from harm.

The Kildare College Child Safeguarding Program is made up of work systems, practices, policies, and procedures designed to maintain a child safe and supportive school environment, and to embed an organisational culture of child safety within the College community.

Child safety and wellbeing is everyone’s responsibility. All adults in the College community have a shared responsibility for contributing to the safety, wellbeing, and protection of students.

Any person, including Staff, Volunteers, Contractors, families, and students can at any time report a reasonable suspicion about harm to a child or young person directly to the Department for Child Protection (DCP) using the Child Abuse Report Line (CARL) on 13 14 78 or online (E-Carl). The report line is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

If you need guidance on making a report, or have questions regarding child safety, contact one of the College’s appointed Child Safeguarding Officers here.
