New Beginnings

Welcome back and it is an absolute privilege to welcome you back as the new Principal of Kildare College.

Many years ago, as an early career teacher, I was so fortunate to be offered a teaching position at Kildare College. Fresh faced with many ideas, I was determined to conquer the world by educating the Kildare students to enjoy and appreciate the awe and wonder of Science. It was during these formative years at Kildare, that I truly developed my craft as an educator. I was mentored by so many talented teachers, who allowed me to take risks, try new things and fly.

Following six incredible years, I left Kildare and taught at other schools in Adelaide, bringing the many skills that I developed at Kildare whilst learning others along the way.

In 2009, my family and I were incredibly lucky to begin an adventure in Prague, Czech Republic, where my husband and I were employed as teachers at Riverside International School, and our sons attended the school as students. We spent five wonderful years in Prague. We taught in a school where only 24% of the families had English as a native language. Educators were employed from around the world and we were able to learn what other countries did by listening to others and visiting other European schools. Due to the rapid expansion of student numbers at the school, I was appointed as the inaugural Junior High Principal at Riverside for three years. Our family commitments eventually brought us back home to Adelaide and lucky for me back to Kildare College.

I feel so blessed to have been appointed as the next Kildare College Principal. I am a strong advocate for girls’ education, always looking for creative ways in which girls can excel.  I am very much looking forward to continuing to work with you all so that together Kildare continues to develop confident, resilient young women whilst also introducing new initiatives so that our students can find their place at school and in the world with a great sense of strength and gentleness.

It is a time of new beginnings – embracing what is great about Kildare whilst also planning for the future, always in the spirit of our Kildare Ministries core values – hospitality, courage, justice, hope, compassion and wonder.

We also welcome and congratulate the following staff members as they embrace their new roles this semester:

Michelle Camillieri – Acting Deputy Principal
Kim Thomas – Acting Middle Years Coordinator
Zefi Pezos – Acting Chanel House Leader

We sincerely thank you for entrusting your daughters to us and thank you for the many blessings that you all bring to Kildare.

Here’s to new beginnings!
