Mention the word homework and you may need to duck for cover as emotions quickly surface. Feelings of being overwhelmed, anxious, angry, fatigued and resignation to name a few, arise.
The aim of the homework timetable provided to all students earlier in the year is to help alleviate these emotions and develop your daughter’s independence as learner. Sometimes your daughter may seem to be working for hours, but actually may have only been productive for a short period of time. It is important to have a conversation with your daughter about tasks that are due and help her prioritise and plan what needs to be done first.
