Early Career Educator Award

30 October 2024

Mastering the Art of Teaching!
Congratulations to Brittany Neeb, our Creative Industries Curriculum Coordinator, who has been honoured with the prestigious Early Career Educator Award at the Educators SA 2024 Minister’s Arts Education Awards, solidifying her reputation as one of the most innovative art educators of her generation.
In her first five years as an educator, and since beginning her journey at Kildare in 2023, Brittany’s roles have significantly evolved, now leading six subjects under the Creative Industries umbrella.
Brittany’s impact has been nothing short of transformative. Developing programs at Kildare rich with history, cross curricular opportunities, culture, and industry has not only enriched the Creative Industries Curriculum but has also ignited incredible growth in student interest.
A driving force behind cross-curricular collaboration, Brittany has fostered partnerships between different curriculum areas, incorporating real-world experiences and learning through a variety of industry experts. These initiatives have given students firsthand insights into how creativity can shape their lives, future careers, and the world around us.
Trailblazing innovation, Brittany drove the introduction of a kiln at Kildare, installed at the College in 2024. This facility has not only expanded the curriculum but has allowed students to create artistic pieces like never before.
Winning the Early Career Education Award is a testament to Brittany’s vision, creativity, and innovation. Using the substantial funding prize that partners the award, Brittany plans to travel to New York and visit renowned museums, galleries and participate in various workshops. She also plans to create more connections with industry professionals and develop the existing Jewellery and Metalsmithing Program at Kildare College, offering extensive opportunities for students and providing professional development courses for staff.

What a beautiful and emotional Farewell Assembly!
For the last time at Kildare College, our Year 12 students gathered as a cohort to be celebrated, surrounded by students, families and staff. This special time was also a powerful reminder of the interconnectedness within our College community and friendships formed across all year levels.
We wish the Class of 2024 every success in their exams and the best of luck for life beyond the College gates.

Year 8 HASS

11 October 2024

During Term 3, our Year 8 HASS students have been contributing to world peace through their study of Shogunate Japan.
They learnt about Sadako Sasaki, a young girl affected by the Hiroshima bombing, who began folding 1000 paper cranes in hope of healing, but unfortunately never finished her cranes.
Inspired by her story, our students have created their own cranes, wishing for an end to war, global peace, and nuclear disarmament. These 1,000 cranes will be sent to the Children’s Peace Memorial in Hiroshima, joining others from schools worldwide in a powerful statement of solidarity.
Well done to all of our Year 8 students.
