Year 9 Art - Portraiture Workshop 30th Aug 2019 (10).jpg

Portraiture Workshop

24.09.19

The Year 9 Art Class went to the Art Gallery of South Australia to take part in a Portraiture Drawing Workshop. Students were introduced to a local Visual Artist in Adelaide whom guided them through important drawing techniques and steps in creating a portrait.

Students were immersed by work from other school students that completed the same Portraiture Workshop as inspiration. The workshop began with students working through different portrait drawing techniques before they began working on their final self-portrait. The students were limited to using charcoal pencil and eraser to create their self-portraits and the results were amazing. Students utilised the skills they had learnt throughout the morning to create a likeness of themselves on paper using charcoal. Students thoroughly enjoyed the workshop and would liket to develop their portraiture drawing skills further at school.
