Pop Up Market Stall

09.05.19

This term The Vinnies Group focused on Caritas Australia’s Annual Lenten Fundraising Appeal, to help end poverty, promote justice and uphold dignity.

The Vinnies Group at Kildare College spent “a day in the life of Nguyet”, a teenager living with a disability in Vietnam. Nguyet lived the first 14 years of her life isolated at home. Her disability restricted her movements, ability to interact with others and any chance of an education.

Nguyet’s life has been transformed thanks to Caritas Australia’s support program, helping young people like Nguyet to discover a world of new opportunities. Because of Project Compassion, Nguyet now runs a successful online business selling clothing and crafts. One day Nguyet would like to have her own shop in the village.

The Vinnies Group hosted a pop up market stall at the school and sold clothing and crafts to support Project Compassion’s initiatives, which give vulnerable people, like Nguyet hope for the future.
