Year 8 Camp

21.03.19

Year 8 students recently travelled to Victor Harbor for their three day camp. This was the first time we have been to Adare and the opportunities to use the beach and the campsite’s excellent facilities was well worth the journey.

We were joined by the Year 11 Peer Support Leaders who built on the connections made at the Year 8 Orientation Day.

The camp is designed to help the students get to know each other, try activities they may not have experienced before and build relationships with their peers. This was certainly achieved! Throughout the three days, the students displayed a positive attitude and enthusiasm for every task. They showed determination, resilience and readily supported their peers in helping them to achieve the set goals.

The Peer Support Leaders organised a variety of activities that the students enjoyed immensely. A fashion parade was organised using the latest in newspaper fashion.

On Thursday night there was a buzz in the group, as the whole cohort participated in a Quiz Night.

It was wonderful to have the students working together towards a common goal and to see them encouraging and supporting each other to work through challenges and fears.
