Last Monday, our College community gathered in the Brigidine Centre for our Opening Mass to celebrate the beginning of the school year. It was a beautiful and reverent celebration that centred around our core value of focus this year, ‘Justice: Making the needs of the vulnerable paramount.’ This is timely, being the inaugural year of the Kildare Ministries Living Justice Framework.
The Mass offered our community a wonderful opportunity to stop to consider and reflect on the importance of love, generosity and being of service to others. Jesus taught us that above everything else in our lives, it is important that we love one another, especially the most vulnerable. As a community, we reflected on how we are called to respond to the needs of others with love, kindness and compassion, as we continue to ensure that the strong messages of justice and service, as advocated by St Brigid, Daniel Delany and Nano Nagle, continue to transcend time in our own values and actions.
