Every year all year levels have the opportunity to participate in the Premier’s Reading Challenge. This year we had an outstanding result, 134 students participated in the Challenge.
The Premier’s Reading Challenge started on the 29 January and finished on the 6 September. During this time a total of 2,544 books were read by those who joined in the Challenge. For every book read, students received a sticker that represents their House team. The House who read the most books was presented with The Premier’s Reading Challenge Trophy.
Congratulation to the 2019 winner Nagle with a total of 577 books read.
Students who completed the Premiers Reading Challenge attended an ice cream party where they received their medals and certificates. A prize was awarded to Joslyn Field who read 120 books.
We also celebrated the accomplishments of Chloe D’Aloisio. Chloe is a Year 11 student who has completed the challenge for 12 consecutive years and was presented with a ‘Reader For Life’ 12-year certificate.
We are very proud of everyone’s efforts and thank all of those who joined in this wonderful incentive introduce by the South Australian Premier in 2004.
Reading not only improves literacy skills, but it also keeps your brain active. Knowledge is a powerful tool that will assist our students with their study, and with everyday life.
