Twenty Year 10 students attended the inaugural ASTRO STEM Day held at the Edinburgh RAAF Base. The program aimed to ignite the next generation’s passion for aerospace careers.
The day provided a space for a diverse range of industry, academic and government partners to come together with the Air Force to create engaging, hands-on experiences that demonstrate exciting and interesting applications of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths.
Students enjoyed solving a variety of problems, partaking in various experiments and challenges, learning to fly aircrafts and weld with Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality Technology and marvelled in the drone racing and air show.
Chloe Mencel commented, 'Thank you so much for organising this experience for us, it was the best excursion I have ever been on. I loved it.'
