The Long Tan Awards, sponsored by the Australian Defence Force were introduced to acknowledge the brave efforts of those who served in Vietnam; in particular the courage and leadership shown during the Battle of Long Tan.
These awards are given in recognition of students who show leadership and teamwork; not only in the school but also the wider community. Students are nominated in recognition of their leadership qualities and teamwork skills to Kildare College and also outside communities.
