Catholic Education South Australia

From our Principal

Welcome to Term Four.

We are already two weeks into the last term and much has been happening in and around the College. With a great deal of excitement, the Multipurpose Centre; our new gym, dance and music areas, was handed over to us. Dance students have already commenced lessons in the new larger, modern dance studio. Our new Multipurpose Centre was a perfect setting to host our Year 12 Final Assembly. These modern, versatile and newly furnished learning spaces are able to cater for multiple classes, or in fact a whole House area at any one time. A large courtyard area provides opportunities to work on school projects in an open air setting as well as provide lovely surroundings to meet up with friends at break times. Teachers have commented on how quiet the new learning spaces are and on the potential to deliver their teaching and learning program in new and exciting ways. We look forward to exploring this new facility, its opportunities and potential together.

Our Graduation Mass took place last Tuesday at St Pius X Catholic Church. Our 2018 Graduates and the whole College community participated in a final assembly in the new Multipurpose Centre to celebrate their journey together; which for most has been a five year association. There is always some sadness associated with departing from a group that has become strong in its bonds and friendships. At the assembly speech, we all encouraged our Year 12s to maintain focus on the current task by completing the year well and putting in that last bit of effort that could conceivably make a big impact on their final outcome.

As a College community, we thank our Year 12 students for sharing their gifts with us and we encourage them to go out into the world and share their gifts with others.

Principal

In 2017 Kildare College Yera 9 students created the app 'Honouring Australia's War Spirits' in recognition of Australians who served and fought in World War One. Students researched information about the lives of past servicemen and women from around Australia; this was used to write short biographical stories that were then uploaded to the app. We are pleased to announce that the app was awarded 1st prize nationall for the best use of technology in the ANZAC Day Schools Awards.

Student Safety

The safety of your daughter is our highest priority. Before and after school drop offs are a busy time on the roads with many students walking, riding and using public transport to get to school.

Reminder that the front drive way on Valliant Road is not to be used as a drop off or collection point for students.
