Graduation

The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams – Eleanor Roosevelt

It is that time of the year where we begin our end of year celebrations. Last week, we had many special events to highlight the incredible achievements of our Graduating Class of 2019.

Whilst it can be a time of mixed emotions as we look towards farewelling our Year 12 students, it is also a time to reflect on their journey thus far as well as the many choices they will be presented with in the future. Our hope is that they leave Kildare as empowered young women who possess a strong sense of independence, resilience and courage who are always willing to be of service to others. We pray that they will continue to grow, explore what lies outside their comfort zone through curiosity and wonder, and awaken to all the opportunities that lie ahead.

Our Graduation Mass was centred on the theme of ‘Love one another as I have loved you’ – an idea which strongly resonates in the Gospel of John. This very much connects to our lives as wherever you may be; in an institution, at university, or in a position of employment, it is important that we learn to ‘love’ each other and always be present in moments of need when they present themselves. It was a lovely Mass and we sincerely thank Father Oswald and Mathew Raj for their inspirational words. After the completion of the Mass, there was much to celebrate as we presented the 2019 Academic Dux and Service Awards. The award recipients are named further on in the newsletter.

Last Friday, we came together as a College community to celebrate, reflect and embrace life after Kildare. There were many laughs and tears sharing the many special moments that have shaped the 2019 cohort. Once again, it was a beautiful occasion acknowledging all that they have contributed to our community over the past five years.

We also graciously thank all of our families and staff in educating, supporting, loving and helping to shape our young people into who they are today. They will always have a place in our community as they have engraved their unique stories into another chapter of Kildare history.

We hope that our students always aim high and dream big, embracing all that they have experienced at Kildare whilst continuing to develop as young adults. We pray they go with God’s blessing in whatever path they choose to take as they enter another stage in their lives.

Vinnies Sleepout

More than 6,000 South Australians are currently without a home each night. Whilst some sleep rough, the majority are couch surfing, sleeping in their cars, or in overcrowded dwellings. Technically, they might have a roof over their heads, but they definitely don’t have a ‘home’ in the same way that you and I do. Sadly, many of these are children.
