Opening College Mass

02.03.18

On Monday we celebrated our Opening College Mass. The theme of this mass was HOPE: Bringing a sense of purpose.

The mass was a great community celebration as we stopped to consider the significance of Hope for our community. A Hope, not bound up in individual desires, but a Hope that our community is one which reflects the life of Jesus, as shown to us by St Brigid and the Brigidine Sisters, where others are thought of first. To do this, Fr John suggested that first and foremost we put our God at the centre of all that we do.

In our Gospel reading, Jesus announces that the Kingdom of God is not only present, but is present in all of us. It is up to us, therefore, to ensure that we bring the Kingdom to those we encounter, ensuring that we are a community where people are filled with a Hope that brings comfort, dignity and worth.
