Students had the opportunity to attend the four day ‘Yellakka Yellakkarri Aboriginal Leadership program at Tauondi College, Port Adelaide.
The program provided the students with opportunities to discover more about being a leader, learning language and the importance of country as well as meeting other Aboriginal students from Catholic schools.
The students explored their history through music, art, language and personal stories with Elders that included Katrina Power, Taylor Power-Smith, Pastor Ray Minniecon and Jonathan Lindsey-Tjapaltjarri Hermawan.
The Elders instilled in each student the importance of being proud of who they are and their culture as well as providing them with skills to help make positive choices in their lives.
