Taster to Research Project

11.05.18

Recently in Year 11 GAP (Girls Achieve Program) staff presented a pre- introduction to the Research Project. This initiative was developed from conversations with students and parents who have been inquiring about the Research Project and wanted to know more information.

Students were engaged in a presentation that introduced them to the basic elements of the Research Project such as why the subject is so important for Senior School and life beyond school. Mr Hage and Miss Renfrey spoke of their experiences at school when they completed the Research Project.

One of the most important aspects of the Research Project is that students are successful when they think of areas of interest to them to further develop their question and research. Parents, carers and families can help students by having collaborative conversations that explore the student's areas of interest. Whilst the Research Project does not commence until Semester 2 this pre- introduction has helped some students to gain a better understanding of this subject.
