Easter is the pivotal celebration of our church. It is the celebration which gives us our ultimate purpose. This is the time in which we celebrate that, through Jesus, we are saved and thus, destined to spend a life with our God. We celebrate that God’s great love for us, in the person of Jesus who conquered sin, sickness, suffering and death. This truly is a celebration of welcoming all.
On behalf of the teaching staff a big thank you to the parents of Year 7-9 students who attended the Learning Review meetings. Making contact early in the year is important in maintaining students’ progress and past experience indicates that it makes a difference to the learning experience when parents and teachers get to know each other and can work together for the benefit of the student.
The quality of education the students receive is very much dependent upon the quality of the partnership between you as the primary care givers and the College. Learning Review meetings for Year 10 to 12 will be held on Thursday 9 May from 1.50pm to 7.00pm. I look forward to meeting up with you again.
As the term draws to a close, it is interesting to reflect on changes that have taken place since the first day of the school year. Our ‘new’ students are no longer ‘new’ but very much an integral part of the life of the College. Any initial trepidation about the new year among students or staff at whatever level vanished very quickly in the ‘busyness’ of day to day life at Kildare.
I wish everyone a restful and enjoyable term break and trust Term 2 will provide your daughter(s) with the opportunity to consolidate on their start to this year, by extending their skills and understanding and increasing their ultimate performance abilities to the highest possible levels.
May the peace, hope and goodness that Easter brings find its way into your lives.
